Shawn is in good spirits. He wants you to know he is ok. waiting for chase vehicle. He’ll call home when he meets up with the satellite phone.

Valiant effort indeed. Chins up team as there is always next year’s 41st year of the Baja 1000 😉
Fact that the car made it to the hard part of the course before it demanded to rest is testimony of the team’s tenacity. It’s not like it crapped out on mile 14 from some oversight. Kudos all around.
I dislike typos and deleted the first version of my comment but it was this same sentiment. cheers!
GO TEAM!
Go to the beach, have a Corona, and revel in the fact that we have a whole SCORE of races to put the Dingo through its paces: the Baja 250, Baja 500, the Laughlin Desert Challenge, and Primm’s Terrible 300! We have just begun!

Thank you Roxanne for keeping us posted YEAH at least you got into the hardest part where cars were expected to conk-out, especially after the last-minute fixes …Shawn at least got what he wanted, some time in the car. Congratulations for all… an incredible amount of time & money put-in on this project. You’ve learned a lot and deserve a good party! Are you going to try to fix it? RV a little farther down just to watch? or pack it up and head home? Take a mini vacation at least and have a beer for me! Love from all of us we are so proud!
Plans are to meet chase vehicle with drivers in Ensenada. Chase vehicle will take trailer back up mountain to tow car. Carrie and Scott will continue south for a spell. The rest of the team will be heading home. I’ll keep updating the site as I hear more.
One more thing: yes, a whole year of practice and racing before the team runs the Baja 1000 again. Desert Dingos are gonna be smokin’ hot next November. This is just the beginning.
