What do you do when you’ve won the Baja 1000 in Class 11 (which we haven’t done yet, but we will)? You race the Mongol Rally which is going on right now. 10,000 miles from London to Ulaan Baatar, Mongolia.
The 2012 Mongol Rally is in full force right now. 10,000 miles, completely unsuitable cars, raising money for charity. What’s not to like.
The hardcore teams are arriving in Ulaan Bataar now. Everyone else will be arriving in the next couple of weeks.
A year of planning starts now. It’s starting out with Canadian rally car driver Paul Hartl and me in one car and Roxanne putting her team together for the second car. Paul says he has a Trabant Kombi – voted by auto experts worldwide as the “worst. car. ever” – lined up in the Czech Republic.
