There’s been a lot of discussion (if you consider three of us instant messaging each other as “discussion”) about how much air Scott and Seth caught off the Red Bull jump in the Ensenada wash.
I think Richard thought it was about 12-18 inches. I maintained three feet, based on watching the video something like 50 times. I forget what Skid thought. I got a call from Eric Solorzano today and he maintains we could have jumped another Class 11.
Judge for yourself. I edited the full Ensenada Deportes video down to our jump. (I included a trophy truck for comparison).
I like this photo. It was the last time the car was clean.

Sure looks like 3 feet… if you consider that 3 feet is probably the height of the tyres, it looks like at least one tyre high of air under the car for sure.
You were the second farthest in that clip just behind the multi million dollar factory car. Imagin that! all those extra $0000 for maybe a foot of distance LOL. Bummer about the tranny but the good news is there are some good builders and close ratio 2nd and 3rd would put you 2 feet further over that jump. Its been fun call any time.. Dave
while shots like that look cool and all, in a Baja 1000 the end result is what you experienced, to win keeping the tires on the ground is the best order of the day.
