We took a pretty bad beating at the Mint 400 and the team decided it was time for a complete teardown of 1107 to prep for our next run at the Baja 1000. We’ve had a few things we’ve wanted to do for some time. Step one was moving the car to Carson City where Romy and Jenn could focus on it in their copious free time.

We’ve got a carport now! Swank.

Gil and Crusty loaded the car up and made the trek over the Sierras.

    E

    Dead seksy.

    C

    Tire’s getting shaved and grooved.

We know what we need to do to win the 1000. Basically between now and November, that’s what we’re focusing on.

Now that 1107 has been released, people have had some time to drive and quite a few have posted their drive videos online.

I want to hire this guy to drive the real car.

Bump it to AWD and 928 hp and it’s an “all wheel drive monster.” This guy drives it like a boss. He’s not keen on the turning radius, but neither are we, but the bumpstops are necessary to keep the tires from hitting the fender wells.

You can all the videos of 1107 in FH2 here.

1107 (rebadged 4707 for the race) off the line at the start of the Mint 400.

I wish I could say we won, or at least finished the Mint 400, but neither was the case. The car was in good shape, the team was ready, but luck wasn’t with us. More on that.

The parade down the Las Vegas Strip was a blast. Carolyn Medrano drove with Gil co-dogging.

After the parade, we parked on Fremont Street for a few hours, chatted with race fans and checked out the competition.

And we were taken out by the 3003 Desert Lite truck registered to Mike Bach. “That’s desert racing,” said BITD owner Casey Folks.

Engine is already out for repairs and the backup motor is being prepped. A lot of damage to repair before our next race.

We’ve been under NDA for so long I feared we may perish! It’s official that 1107 is in Forza Horizon 2 from Turn 10 Studios. FH2 has sold more than 1.4 million copies worldwide and we are part of the the March DLC car pack that also includes one from some guy named Turner Foust.

You have to check out the teaser for the game:

When Turn 10 first contacted us and said they were interested in having 1107 in the game I was like “Why on earth would anyone want to drive it when you can drive a Ferrari?” but they said “Trust us” and we did.

1107 looks more perfect than it ever has in real life and most of our sponsors gave the green light to have their logos included on the car. It handles pretty much like the car does in real life (like a loaf of bread) and the only thing missing is the smell of burning oil.

Here’s a video of the car in action on launch day (skip to 6:30 into the video to get to the good stuff)

Response from FH2 players has been pretty good. And here’s a gallery of shots of the car.

We’re getting 1107 dialed for the Mint 400 and the team took 1107 (soon to be 4707) to Prairie City SVRA for a pre-race shakedown test. Everything is working as planned and from there the car was off to our sponsor Wallentine Motorsports for installation of a new radio cable.

The car arrives in Las Vegas Tuesday, March 10, we participate in the parade of race vehicles on Wednesday, have the car on Fremont Street Wednesday and Thursday, go through tech on Friday and race on Saturday, March 14, starting around 6 a.m.
