The team risks a collective hernia hauling the body off Richard’s truck.
We brought the body back from Skid’s place to do fitting as we start work on the upper levels of the roll cage.

Less than 60 days to go and the car’s coming together. The transmission arrived and is being fitted. We started work on the interior roll cage and are ready to put the body back on the frame this coming weekend.
We’re really hoping the $3400 entry fee is for the team and not “per driver”. More photos here.
A good chunk of the team are burners, so we’ve agreed to take this week off and hit the ground running after Labor Day.
I’m only out there for two days, so I spent some time doing more sanding on 1117.
We’ve selected artist Gore.b to paint 1117. He’s had exhibits in Philadelphia, NYC and Santa Cruz. He’s also been involved in an artist collective, the Endless Love Crew, that does collaborative pieces. There’s a great video of “The Cube” here.
Gore.b has lined up space at the Dead Cow Gallery on River Street for the painting, which means I’ve got to get 1117 primered and ready to go. I’m sure there’s a more orderly way to primer a car, but it gets boring working on the same spot.
A handful of photos here.
Skid drew our attention to an announcement of this year’s course. I’m calling dibs on the paved parts right now.
And Cary sent over more photos from Sunday’s work day.
