  • TrailGlow featured in Dirt Sports Magazine

    Our sponsor, TrailGlow, is featured in the November 2009 issue of Dirt Sports magazine.

    When I first saw a truck sporting a set of TrailGlow’s illuminated number panels at the SNORE KC Hilites Midnight Special race, I turned to my wife and said “As God is my witness, I will own a set of those.”

    We’re now outfitted with a full set of TrailGlow custom built HID driving lights, multiple sets of illuminated number panels, and pit crew safety vests, courtesy of founder Paul Lukey and his son, Paul III.

    As great as it is to have the support of a new sponsor, it’s been even more rewarding to meet Paul and his son, who love off road racing as much as we do. And I absolutely agree with Dirt Sport’s review:

    TrailGlow’s panel’s make us easier to see at night, they’re going to speed us through checkpoints during night races, and the cool factor alone makes them worth it. If you’re looking to make your car stand out, I strongly recommend checking them out.

  • Our new TrailGlow HID driving lights

    Our new TrailGlow HID driving lights. These things are so big that you can’t see the telephone used to prop the light up. You just might be able to see the Desert Dingo Racing logo engraved in the lens glass.

    One of the problems we’ve had at previous night races is that our lights drew so much electricity we believe it was causing electrical problems that may have fried our electrical system. Paul Lukey with TrailGlow, who is sponsoring us, shipped us a set of three new driving lights that will put out twice the light using half the electricity.

    Waiting for an update from Momentum Transport on where 1107 is now (I’m hoping at least Ohio). Once it returns we’ll wire up the lights and TrailGlow lighted number panels and also install our secret weapon from EMS Sky Connect. We’ll also be rebadging the car as 1104 for the Baja 1000.

  • Future home of Desert Dingo Racing

    Heavy metal parking garage.

    Richard, Scott, Crusty and Skid met earlier today to erect the frame of a workshop in Richard’s back yard that will soon be the new home of Desert Dingo Racing. The frame is up, as is the primary structure for the overhead crane (Did we mention we’ll have an overhead crane? Yes, we will.)

    The rush is to get the workshop enclosed by Thanksgiving because apparently Richard is having dinner for 30 in it. After that, it’s all ours. (I’m contributing a very cool Bilstein racing calendar).

  • 1107 has left the building

    Not much new to report. Going through the new paperwork received from SCORE for the Baja 1000. Looks like we’ll be meeting Tuesday at Richard’s to erect the beams for what will eventually be the official Desert Dingo Racing race shop (and Richard’s metal shop).

    And we’re back from the World Diabetes Congress. Highlights from the show: Richard is a schmooze machine. We watched “Dust to Glory” 19 times over the course of five days staffing the Desert Dingo booth. People love 1107. A subset of those people really love being strapped into the five point harnesses “(Oh yeah, but imagine being strapped in for four hours in a non-stop car crash.”)

    1107 will be back back on a truck today (hopefully by now) and back in Felton in 10 days. Now we shift to Baja 1000 planning. TrailGlow is shipping new night driving lights and safety vests. EMS Sky Connect is shipping our secret weapon. Bilstein is re-tuning our shocks.
